Update: As of December 15, 2016 SAML is now an Asana Enterprise feature.

If you use or want to use Asana at a company where enterprise-class IT requirements must be met prior to widespread adoption of any work tool (ie: a big company), we’ve made it much easier for you to onboard everyone quickly — and ease your IT department’s concerns.

We’ve added support for two new ways to securely deploy Asana to your entire organization and manage user accounts. The first, SAML support, is available to premium Asana users, while the second, account authentication via the Google Apps Marketplace, is available to all Asana users. We’re working to ensure that whatever identity management or IT requirements your company has, Asana not only meets them, but exceeds your privacy and security expectations.

Seamless authentication and account management

Large companies require enterprise-level features, and we’re proud that Asana offers a number of authentication solutions, which now include SAML (Security Assertion Markup Language). With SAML, companies (and IT departments) have full control over the authorization and authentication of hosted Asana user accounts.

SAML connects Asana with many of the leading identity management service providers like Okta and OneLogin. In fact, we worked closely with them throughout the SAML development process to ensure that our solution addressed the needs of IT admins at large companies. With SAML, users invited to premium Asana Organizations who log into Asana will simply be redirected to their company’s login URL or service.

If you’d like to take advantage of SAML today, make sure your team or company has upgraded to the premium version of Asana.

In addition to SAML and our existing Google for Work Single Sign-On capabilities, you’ll now find Asana in the Google Apps Marketplace. If your company is already using Google Apps, your Google Apps admin can now roll out Asana as they would any of the other cloud application in the Marketplace.

Once installed, the Asana icon will be visible to everyone in your company’s Google Apps universal navigation bar, so all your most-used work tools are just a toggle away. Our Marketplace app is just another way we integrate with Google–we also offer a Chrome Extension and Google Drive integration in Asana.

We know that you trust Asana with critical data, and we want to make it easier for you and your company to comfortably deploy Asana to everyone in your organization. With these additional offerings, you can ensure faster onboarding so you can start communicating with your team in Asana, right away.
